Herbicide
PYROXASULFONE 9% SC
A selective pre-emergence suspension concentrate (SC) herbicide that provides long-lasting residual control of annual grasses and selected broadleaf weeds. It helps suppress weed emergence during the critical early stages of crop growth, promoting better crop establishment and higher yields.
Target Weeds
Echinochloa crus-galli, Setaria, Digitaria, Eleusine indica, Amaranthus & Chenopodium album
Mode of Action
HRAC Group 15 / Very Long-Chain Fatty Acid (VLCFA) Biosynthesis Inhibition
Use Sites / Crops
Maize, Soybean, Wheat, Barley & Sunflower
Active: Pyroxasulfone
Formulation: SC (Suspension Concentrate)
Selective Pre-Emergence
HRAC Group 15 Action
Product Information
Mode of Action
Pyroxasulfone (HRAC Group 15) inhibits the biosynthesis of very long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs), preventing root and shoot development during weed seedling germination and emergence. This provides effective, long-lasting residual weed control in the topsoil layer.
Target Weeds
- Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyardgrass)
- Setaria spp. (Foxtails)
- Digitaria spp. (Crabgrass)
- Eleusine indica (Goosegrass)
- Amaranthus spp. (Pigweed)
- Chenopodium album
- Annual grasses and selected broadleaf weeds
Recommended Application Guidance
| Crop | Target Weeds | Dosage & Method of Application |
|---|---|---|
| Maize, Soybean, Wheat, Barley & Sunflower | Annual grasses and selected broadleaf weeds | Apply as a pre-emergence spray immediately after sowing and before weed emergence at the recommended label dosage. Ensure adequate soil moisture for optimum herbicide activation and residual weed control. |
For specific ml/ha dosage rates and local water volume recommendations across registered crops, please refer to the registered product label or consult local agricultural extension specialists.
Application Instructions
1. Pre-Emergence Timing Immediately After Sowing
Apply as a pre-emergence soil treatment immediately after crop sowing and prior to weed emergence to establish an effective residual chemical barrier.
2. Soil Moisture & Activation Requirements
Ensure application is conducted on moist soil or followed by light rainfall/irrigation to incorporate the suspension concentrate formulation into the upper soil profile, activating VLCFA inhibition in germinating weed seeds.
Safety & Environmental Care
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, face mask, protective suit) during handling, mixing, and application. Avoid spray drift onto non-target crops and nearby water bodies. Store in original sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location away from food, drink, and animal feed.
